Christmas Music Part 1 - White Christmas
This blog started as a result of two guest posts on my friend Nicole Simone AKA Miss Late July’s site. The first post was about Otis Redding and a discussion of his Christmas songs “White Christmas” and “Merry Christmas Baby”. You can find it here: http://miss.latejuly.ca/2010/12/saturday-morning-soul-holiday-edition.html

Sarah Tracey - Tell No One Review
Sarah Tracey’s new album Tell No One is a jazz album. However, it’s so much more than that. Sarah Tracey has moved away from the typical Jazz Lounge sound and Tell No One represents a significant growth in her abilities.

Preview - Sarah Tracey - Tell No One
Sarah Tracey is a jazz singer in New York. Her first full length album Tell No One, comes out today. Using a theme of a secret spy agent, Tell No One lyrically explores the hidden side to us, while musically trying on different styles. This isn`t your typical Jazz lounge album. It`s better.

Song Review - "Otis" by Kanye West & Jay-Z Ft. Otis Redding
My regular readers know by now that Otis Redding is my favourite singer of all time. They also know that Otis’ version of “Try A Little Tenderness” is my favourite song of his. I blogged about it here: http://funkybarrister.blogspot.com/2011/01/try-little-tenderness.html
So last week Kanye West and Jay-Z released the first track from their upcoming collaborative album Watch the Throne. It’s called “Otis” and it features a sample of “Try A Little Tenderness”.

While the recent terrorist attack in Olso is a far more important issue, this is a music blog. The big news in music is the recent passing of Amy Winehouse.
